Three days ago, This Is Body Grief made its way into the world. After years of dreaming, writing, rewriting, and pouring my heart onto the page, I finally held this book in my hands, knowing it was now in yours too.
Launch week has been nothing short of extraordinary—full of love, celebration, and a deep sense of community.
On pub day, March 18th, we gathered in Soho for a beautiful lunch, a moment of reflection and joy shared with my husband, Wheatie, my dad, my brilliant literary agent Lauren Hall (deeply missing Jan Baumer, who was there in spirit!), and my incredible editor Nina Rodriguez from Penguin Random House. It was the kind of lunch where you pause mid-bite just to take it all in—the warmth, the accomplishment, the undeniable fact that this book is here.

That evening, we continued the festivities with late-night food, reveling in the surreal excitement of it all. The next day, I met up with my younger sister and bestie, Claire, for more celebrations—a much-needed spa day (because, let’s be real, publishing a book is exhilarating but exhausting), and then we prepped for the big event at PowerHouse Arena in Brooklyn.
This event wasn’t just an event; it was a moment. A moment of connection, of vulnerability, of reclaiming our narratives around our bodies and the grief we carry. I had the honor of being interviewed by Ruby Warrington, author of Sober Curious and Women Without Kids, who was my book coach throughout this process. Our conversation was seamless, igniting honesty, laughter, and deep reflection on disability, menopause, and the complex, ever-shifting relationships we have with our bodies. We also explored how body grief is not just about individual experiences but deeply tied to systems of oppression and the loss of bodily autonomy. The antidote to body grief, we agreed, is community—a strong, unwavering community that holds space for healing, resistance, and collective care.

And here’s the thing: we are only just beginning. This Is Body Grief is already trending on Amazon as a Top Seller in Eating Disorders & Body Image and Grieving & Death and Dying—proof that these conversations are needed, that they are resonating, that we are ready to collectively heal. Every purchase, every library request, every book club discussion is a ripple effect, shifting how we see and honor the grief we hold in our bodies.
Thank you for being part of this journey. For reading, for sharing, for showing up. This Is Body Grief is more than a book—it’s a movement. And we’re only getting started.
